WHAT DOES OPAQUE DO?

Sensitive and private research, transactions and communications are conducted online every day. This activity is susceptible to covert surveillance and exploit by internet service providers, content delivery networks, compromised websites, data brokers, malicious insiders or other bad actors. With laws in question, such as Net Neutrality and the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), the Opaque platform allows organizations to take control of their valuable privacy data, control what is shared and what is visible about their organizations and their activities.

HOW IS THIS BETTER THAN A VPN AND SIMILAR TOOLS FOR PRIVACY?

A VPN encrypts traffic from point to point and generally routes traffic to a new geographic location. While Grey Market Labs uses encryption technology to protect traffic, VPNs and other tools only protect one piece of the data privacy puzzle. Comprehensive and realistic protections, provided by Opaque, are required across all layers of an enterprise interaction with the internet to prevent tracking and exploitation while still maintaining an enjoyable user experience.

DOES THIS WORK WITH MY EXISTING SECURITY TOOLS OR PRODUCTS?

We created Opaque as an extensible, open architecture platform. We integrate with existing cybersecurity products like anti-virus, intrusion detection, malware/ransomware monitoring, etc. The platform also allows deployment of existing organizational tools, scripts and other workflow features to the platform environment, increasing the protections and reducing the potential for compromise or exploitation.

HOW DO I CHOOSE BETWEEN MANAGED SERVICE, SAAS, AND SELF-MANAGED VERSIONS OF THE OPAQUE PLATFORM?

If you like “plug and play”, with someone else managing the technical complexity and the simplicity of a URL and credentials for access, then the Software as a Service (SaaS) version of the Opaque Platform may be for you.

Does your organization already use a cloud infrastructure solution, such as AWS, Azure, or vSphere? Do you want someone else managing the technical complexity? Then the Managed-Service version of the Opaque Platform may be for you.

Does your organization already use a cloud infrastructure solution, but you like to manage your infrastructure “in house”? Then the Self-Hosted version of the Opaque Platform may be for you.
